ECHO
ECHO
When I was an architecture student in Iran, I traveled to different cities to visit historical sites. They were breathtaking, but often strangely empty, missing the everyday people who give a place its meaning. I began drawing these spaces the way I wished to see them: someone sitting on the stairs, leaning by the pond, standing on the roof. Small human moments that turn these spaces into places we belong to again.
This project weaves architectural drawing and music through Iranian culture. Each piece begins with a drawing of an iconic public space, inviting people back into those places. The drawing grows layer by layer, every stage photographed and assembled into a stop‑motion film. Music and image unfold together: songs draw on Iranian folk melodies alongside original tunes. The animation follows the rhythm of the music, the frames dancing along the story. Kinetic sculptures—paper and 3D‑printed abstractions—hover in the space and move gently during the performance.
ECHO is conceived as both a live performance and an exhibition installation. It is still evolving. It may appear as a concert with a live band and projections, or as an installation of multiple projections across gallery walls, each with its own soundtrack to discover up close.

GRAND BĀZĀR is a labyrinth where losing your way leads you to a friendly shopkeeper who guides you.
GRAND BĀZĀ R is the first in the series. It was created during the Iran Revolution of 2026, when protests erupted in Tehran’s bazaar after the catastrophic collapse of the rial. People reclaimed the space — closing the shops and gathering from every corner of the market. Together our voices grew louder.

The drawings include kinetic pieces inspired by Iranian architecture. These moving elements come to life within the animation, presenting themselves as living parts of the structure.
CHAHĀR-SŪ
A chahār sū
is a natural place to pause, meet, and talk, because everyone passes through it. It is the main four‑way junction within a covered bazaar — the point where major market corridors cross.
chahār sū is a place where people begin to talk. When we speak, we make ourselves vulnerable — it can be frightening, but if we overcome that, we realise we all share doubts. We are stronger when we can talk and listen to each other. Chahār‑sū is the third drawing in the series, created at a time when we need each other more than ever.

NAGHSH E JAHAN SQUARE
Every now and then, the square would be cleared for public ceremonies and festivities.
NAGHSH E JAHAN SQUARE is the second drawing in the series. Historically, this square has always been a place for festivals and gatherings in Iran. Today it stands empty. I had to imagine people reclaiming this historic space, so I drew them everywhere, even on the roof.

Drawing Sings remains a work in progress. I’m shaping the concept and learning as I go.
